The Nevada 4-H leaders' forum is March 13-14 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon. The forum, supported by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and Monsanto, will bring 4-H volunteers together to learn about innovative programs to help bring fresh perspectives and activities to 4-H programs across the state.
The forum is for new and experienced leaders; teen and junior leaders for project or community clubs, after school or military programs or other youth groups in rural and urban communities.
Leaders will participate in workshops in the topics of energy education, starting 4-H after school programs, parliamentary procedure, sewing, felting, making soaps and lotions, 4-H farmers markets, challenge and adventure activities, animal science in dogs, horses, rabbits and cavies, sheep, project ideas for club meetings, leadership.
The event features speaker Nevada State Fair manager John Owens, a hot air balloon, Taste of Nevada dinner, share fair and an awards banquet honoring volunteers. Cost is $55.
