A 63-year-old man who absconded after being permitted diversion in a 2006 drug case faces prison.

John E. Hara Jr. was in a senior convalescent center when he was taken into custody and returned to Douglas County on Jan. 14.

Hara was convicted of sales and conspiracy to sell a controlled substance in a Dec. 16, 2005 case. He was sentenced to drug court, but didn't attend. The Nevada Department of Parole and Probation is recommending that Hara be incarcerated. Hara will return to district court for sentencing on March 10.
