Sponsorships available for summer concert series

The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department kicks off its 13th year of the Family Summer Concert Series at Minden Park on May 29.

The support of sponsors from the community is necessary to present the popular series free of charge.

The recreation department received donations from GE Energy and the Carson Valley Inn, who will be the overall concert series presenting and co-sponsors. The department is still in need of community financial support through co-sponsorship program advertisements.

Sponsorship donations go toward the cost of promotion, talent, sound and staffing. For information about becoming a concert sponsor, contact Sheryl Christian, 782-9828 or schristian@co.douglas.nv.us

This year's concert lineup is the Jeff Jones Band on May 29, Shane Dwight band on June 26, Rick Hays & American Steel on July 17, Savannah Blue Southern Rock Revue on Aug. 7 and Caravanserai, a tribute to Santana on Aug. 28.
