Traffic is flowing again on Kingsbury Grade, albeit slowly.
Today's storm brought snow to the grade and snarled traffic for a time.
Cars are moving as of 1:35 p.m., according to law enforcement personnel on scene.
Kingsbury was closed to westbound traffic at 12:30 p.m.
Traffic on the Lake Tahoe side of Kingsbury Grade has been shut down while authorities try to clear the road for snowplows.
The main connector between Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe was subject to heavy snowfall for the past two hours. South Lake Tahoe at 11:36 a.m., was for 1 inch of snow in 30 minutes with a visibility of a quarter mile.
The Nevada Department of Transportation has begun plowing the highway now that most of the disabled vehicles are out of the way.
According to the National Weather Service, the snow level is 5,600 feet.
