Sentencing of a California man was delayed when a pre-sentence report by the Department of Parole and Probation wasn't ready on Monday.

Dennis Causing, 57, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted trafficking in a controlled substance on Dec. 3 after rejecting an earlier plea negotiation. He faces one to four years in Nevada State Prison.

Causing was arrested Sept. 13, 2008, after deputies received reports he was attempting to sell controlled substances at a Gardnerville tavern.

He was located at a motel where deputies found 10.5 grams of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, including plastic bindels and several glass pipes.

Causing was sentenced to five years in prison in May 2004, but after serving 230 days in Douglas County Jail, his prison sentence was reduced to a year before he was eligible for parole.
