Theater auditions

Auditions for Carson Valley Community Theatre's production of "Hollywood Arms" by Carrie Hamilton and Carol Burnett are 6:30-9 p.m. today, at the Justin Clouser law office, 1669 Lucerne St., Suite A-3 in Minden Village. Call-backs are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

There are 11 parts to be cast for people to play characters ages 10-65. Also needed are a producer and costumer.

Grant workshop

Photo club meets

Painting meeting

Art club meeting

Retired art dealer Gene Young discusses printing techniques and artwork marketing at the monthly meeting of the Carson Valley Art Association, 1:30 p.m. Jan. 16, at the UNR Cooperative Extension conference room, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville. Sweetheart dance

Douglas County Parks & Recreation's Father-Daughter Sweetheart Dance is 6:30-9 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds building. Dancing to DJ music. Refreshments will be served and photo keepsakes available for an additional fee.

Knights cioppino

The 4th Degree Sierra Assembly of the Knights of Columbus' third annual cioppino dinner is Feb. 7 at the St. Gall Pastoral Center. Dinner includes green salad, bread, dessert and nonalcoholic beverages. Steak may be substituted. Cost is $30 per person. Tickets are available at the church office until Feb. 1.
