A memorial service is 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church for 28-year Gardnerville resident Dorothy Mary Boyle, 84, who died Jan. 12, 2009, in Carson City. Graveside services will follow at Eastside Memorial Park.

Born July 9, 1924, near Hazleton, Iowa, she graduated from Randalia High School in 1941 and married Earl Snyder in 1942. The couple had two children, Allen in 1943 and Patricia in 1948.

After a divorce in 1965, she married Howard Boyle in 1967. In 1980 the couple moved to Gardnerville.

During her life, Mrs. Boyle worked several years as a waitress, meter maid and a record clerk at the Douglas County Sheriffs Office.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lana Salisbury, a brother, two sisters and a daughter-in-law.

She is survived by son Allen and daughter-in-law Cheewa; daughter Patricia; two granddaughters and five great grandchildren.

She has been active in church all her life and has always been ready to help any neighbor in need of a helping hand.

Her family expressed their appreciation and thanks to St. Mary's Hospice and to the ladies that came to help. The family asks that donations be made to St. Mary's Hospice. Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with her final arrangements.
