Brad Keife of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Carl Lackey and Rodney Johnson of the Nevada Division of Wildlife tag a turkey on Wednesday. There were 17 Rio Grande wild turkeys released by the wildlife officials and volunteers from the Jakes youth club and Silver Sage Gobblers chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. The turkeys were caught by members of the National Wild Turkey Federation in the Sacramento Valley and transferred to an undisclosed location in Nevada in the continuing effort to establish populations of the game bird in the Great Basin.
