Staff Reports
The theme for the Carson Valley Photo Club's January photo competition was frozen water or snow. Tori Perez's photo of colored ice, titled "Pretty Ice," was the first-place winner, Priscilla Forster was second with her image, "Steaming Ice," taken at the hot springs south of Walker and third place was Dean Ward's photo of ice on his backyard fence.
Guest speaker at the Jan. 13 meeting was Record-Courier photographer Shannon Litz who helped judge. The pictures will be on display at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden through the month.
The theme for the February contest is romance and love. The Feb. 10 meeting features a critique session led by Ray Moore.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Carson Valley Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. Membership open to amateur and professional photographers. Information, president Pat Stanley at napapat7373@charter.net or (775) 790-0440.
