An 18-year-old Sacramento woman faces up to six years in prison and a $50,000 fine at her March 10 sentencing for trying to sell 100 Ecstasy tablets in an undercover operation.

Kayla Rose Villarreal pleaded guilty to trafficking in a controlled substance.

She was arrested Dec. 5 after trying to sell the tablets for $500 in a Stateline casino parking lot.

Villarreal told District Judge Dave Gamble she brought the Ecstasy from Sacramento.

"I came from Sacramento to here to sell Ecstasy to somebody I knew," she said.

She said she needed money to take care of her mother and younger siblings.

"It was a bad idea," she said.

Villarreal is in Douglas County Jail on $15,000 bail.
