Video of two women who reportedly swiped packages off Carson Valley front stoops just before Christmas has been released by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Carson City residents Allisha Ezell, 39, and Evelyn Aceves, 34, were identified after Investigator Greg Rooney watched video surveillance in stores showing the women using stolen gift cards in a local Walmart store.

The video is available under staff video on The Record-Courier's Web site.

According to Sgt. Jim Halsey, Rooney was investigating the thefts of packages delivered by UPS and Federal Express in December and January. The packages were taken before the homeowners arrived.

A half-dozen thefts occurred in Douglas County and many others happened in Carson City and Reno.

Halsey said the items taken in Douglas included a vehicle ladder rack, a child's pedal car, holiday gift cards, clothes, toys, books, and a Christmas wreath. The value of the items stolen is estimated at about $2,500.

During an interview with the women, Halsey said Rooney received a full confession from both of them detailing their involvement in several of the thefts.

They implicated an additional subject involved in the crimes, Christina Vivian Anderson. Anderson has since fled to California. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call Rooney at (775) 782-9926

Criminal charges against the suspects are pending review of the case by the Douglas County District Attorney's Office.
