Dance class sign-ups

Sign-ups begin this week for one free class in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, drama or musical theater.

Personal collage workshop

The Copeland Cultural Arts Center hosts the Visual Journaling fundraising workshop, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 7. Artist Pam Brekas shows how to create personal collages. Bring scissors, favorite magazines, glue stick or scrapbooking adhesive. Cost of $50 benefits the Carson Valley Arts Council, 1572 Highway 395, Minden. Create gourd art

Artist Norma Holland gives a demonstration on creating gourd art, 1-3 p.m. Feb. 14 at East Fork Gallery, 1503 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Holland has been an artist-participant in fundraisers for the Nevada Indian Commission and a featured artist in the 58th Annual Governor's Interstate Indian Council Conference at Lake Tahoe. Light refreshments will be served.

Yerington ag event

Silverado Ranch Supply in Yerington hosts a grower meeting, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 19 at the Catholic Center in Yerington.

Farmers, ranchers and rural property owners will learn about soil fertility, hay production and pasture management. Guest speakers are from the U. S.
