GARDNERVILLE, Nev. " A 5-year-old-girl and her 39-year-old grandfather were injured today when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a truck at Waterloo and Centerville lanes.

The victims were Eric Cooper of the Gardnerville Ranchos and his granddaughter who was not identified.

The truck driver was identified as 41-year-old Richard Jorgenson of the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Douglas County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Halsey said both victims suffered broken right legs. They were wearing helmets, he said.

The injured were taken by medical helicopter to Reno after the 11:22 a.m. accident.

Halsey said the motorcycle was traveling north on Centerville Lane when the truck, pulling off Waterloo Lane, struck them.

He said no drugs or alcohol were believed to be involved.

"The driver of the truck just didn't see them," Halsey said.

The accident is under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
