A Douglas High School graduate was convicted of robbery and sentenced to prison in the connection with multiple robberies in Eugene, Ore., according to press reports there.

Sam Sourikoff grew up in Minden and was a 2005 graduate from Douglas High School, where he played football, basketball and golf.

He moved to Eugene where he attended the University of Oregon and apparently robbed the same restaurant four times.

According to KVAL.com, the 22-year-old was sentenced to 140 months in connection with the robberies.

Sourikoff is reportedly a suspect in the robber of Chadom Jewelers in Stateline and Oliver's Fine Jewelry in Zephyr Cove in August 2007.

Authorities believe the perpetrator is responsible for a handful of other robberies and burglaries in Stateline, Incline Village and Tahoe City.

After robbing J.P. Chadom Jewelers, the gunman, described as a clean-shaven white male in his mid-20s, fled on foot with three cases containing more than 20 pieces of jewelry each, according to shop owner Joey Chacon.

Oliver's Jewelry in Round Hill was burglarized on Aug. 14 and Aug. 17, but neither of those thefts was as brazen as the Chadom's robbery.
