A parade, concerts and a church service honoring veterans are among the Fourth of July celebrations planned for Carson Valley this weekend.

Glenwood Drive residents will kick off the holiday by hosting their fourth annual Independence Day Parade on their street in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Tracy Clark said the parade set-up is at 10:30 a.m. and it starts at 11 a.m.

"It gets bigger every year," she said. "It's awesome."

Gardnerville will be home to the annual Red, White and Blue concert at Heritage Park at 2 p.m. featuring the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra.

Festivities at Mormon Station State Historic Park kick off at 1 p.m. for Pops in the Park, sponsored for the 26th year by the Sierra Philharmonic League.

To top it all off, Lights at the Lake fireworks at Stateline kick off at 9 p.m.
