Mothers Against Drunk Driving is planning the first MADD Family Festival on Aug. 22 in Minden Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The festival will honor the memory of the victims of drunk driving crashes while presenting the community a fun- filled day of alcohol-free entertainment, education, community outreach, arts and crafts booths, and food.
There will be musical entertainment all day, poetry readings, book signings, children's activities, performance art, strolling singers and a little bit of everything.
There will also be a silent auction running all day. Local nonprofits will be offering information and activities for all ages
MADD is looking for more people to set up arts and craft booths or sales booths and for volunteers to help on the day of the festival.
There will be a fee of $75 for booth space plus a donation for the silent auction.
People must request booth space in advance and spaces will be assigned on a first-signed-up first--paid-for basis. Community members who want to volunteer will also need to call in advance and attend a planning session.
For more information please call MADD at 267-2277 or email Linda.finch@madd.org.
