The CV 9-10 team got off to a fast start on July 5, beating North Tahoe 13-1 to start their All-Star tournament. Carson Valley got strong pitching support from Tanner Souza, Dion Mortimer, Connor McKinnon, and Tomas Leitenbauer. The foursome combined to throw a no hitter. Carson Valley was led in hitting by Souza with two doubles, Mortimer added a double and McKinnon, Leitenbauer and Trivitt came through with singles.

Strong base running and staunch defense was provided by Kindel Isham, Lake Saladis, Gage Barney, Tre Jackson, Hayden Brown, Blake Murray, Cody Ball and Nolan Greth.

Trivitt had a strong outing as the Carson Valley catcher.

The highlight of the game came when Murray was apparently thrown out at home when the catcher had the plate blocked and the tag in place low well before Murray reached the plate.

Miraculously, Murray jumped over the catcher and landed safely with two feet on home plate.

This was a true Little League moment that was the talk of the night.

Monday night's game against Reno American West started off with a first inning barrage that ended up with Carson Valley scoring 13 runs in the first inning.

Saladis, the leadoff hitter, came up to bat three times in the first inning and was on base twice to ignite the Carson Valley explosion.

Jackson was 3 for 3, Souza reached base all four times and added another double to his collection.

Isham added two singles, Mckinnon had a double and a single, Trivitt hit a double, and Ball, Mortimer, and Leitenbauer all had singles.

Hayden Brown and Nolan Greth contributed to a strong defensive outing in the outfield and Murray was exceptional behind the plate to go along with his on base percentage for the tourney of .833.

McKinnon pitched three strong innings for Carson Valley.

Barney and Souza had strong outings in relief as the Carson Valley pitchers gave up only three hits for the game. Carson Valley next plays a tough, undefeated Reno Continental team on Tuesday fresh off of two lopsided victories.
