The four Gardnerville residents accused in the Father's Day beating death of Joe Howell are appearing in Minden's East Fork Justice Court this morning for a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors will have to show enough of their case to prove there's sufficient evidence a crime occurred and that Anthony Gomez, 30; Jason Waugh, 28; Jimmy Holman, 15, and Alexandrew Vail, 15, were involved. All four are being held without bail.

Members of the Airport Advisory Committee are meeting 6 p.m. tonight in the county commissioner chambers, 1616 Eighth St., in Minden. The big item on the agenda are the revisions to the Value of an Airport presentation.

It will be sunny and cool today with a high temperature in the low 80s under clear skies. Dry weather is a good thing for a change, since ranchers are bringing in the first cutting of hay. The wind will continue to pick up in the afternoons.
