Taste of the Towns in Gardnerville on Aug. 1

Taste Mexican, Italian and Basque food samples, and sweets, coffee, pizza, and smoothies from 13 participating restaurants at the Taste of the Towns event, 5-9 p.m. Aug. 1. Park at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville to begin the tasting tour.

Musical entertainment includes Ben Crocker in the museum's parking lot, the Hot Two at the JT Basque Bar & Dining Room and Mike Maloney at Woodettes. Many businesses on the taste tour also serve food and drink.

Advance sale tickets are $20 for historical society members and $25 for non-members and are available at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center and the Genoa Courthouse Museum. A limited amount of tickets will be sold. Information, 782-2555.
