Douglas County Secret Witness is seeking information on a residential burglary that took place during the daytime hours between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The burglary occurred in the 800 block of Larchwood Way in Minden. According to the Sheriff's Office, small items of value were taken, and the interior property was vandalized. In addition to the theft, a family pet was involved in the acts of vandalism. The pet was not injured.

"The Douglas County Sheriff's Office wants to remind the public that residential burglaries are most common in the daytime hours and to be aware of people and vehicles not commonly seen in their neighborhoods," Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Halsey said. "Getting to personally know your neighbors along with neighborhood watch programs are the best defense against these types of crimes."

A reward of up to $500 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is urged to call Secret Witness at telephone number: (775) 78-CRIME (782-7463), (775) 586-7295, or Investigator Jeff Schemenauer at (775) 782-9907. Callers may remain anonymous.
