The county's Web site experienced an outage over the weekend, and the calendar and a couple of other functions are still not working this morning. Apparently, they're not on their own. Our site is having some issues as well, which is why I blogged the morning report today.
The high yesterday in Fish Springs was 96 degrees. My thermometer in Genoa showed 106 before it died (maybe it's broken). The Colonial Bank in Gardnerville showed 100 degrees, but most of the others hovered around 98. Expect another hot day today with a high of 95 degrees under sunny skies. Some thunderstorm activity is predicted for later in the week.
It was hot over the weekend, but not near as hot as it was in Death Valley where Saturday's temperature hit 128 degrees. That's not a record for the date or the place, though, according to the National Weather Service. The record for the date is 129 degrees. The record temperature was set in 1913 at 134 degrees.
