Thanks for support

EDITOR:

A huge thank-you goes out to every one of the almost 500 people, including Gov. Jim Gibbons, who attended the first king crab feed and steak cookout to benefit our local Boys & Girls Club. Thanks to you the event was an incredible, "sold out" success. A very special thanks goes to captains Keith and Monte Colburn of the crab boat Wizard as featured on the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" who took time out of their busy schedules to provide the star power"and also visited the club and the kids. We even made the 11 o'clock news.

The event was a wonderful collaboration of local businesses and individuals who so generously donated their products, time and talents to ensuring that it was a success. We are incredibly grateful to our event sponsors: The JT Basque Bar & Dining Room; Lira's Market; Full Belly Deli; Model Dairy; American Sea Food; Ranchos Pizza Factory; Carson Valley Accounting; Teresa Sexton who provided the music and audio system and acted as our master of ceremonies; the Carson Valley Sertoma Club; and Sierra Canopy Rentals.

We also thank our supporters: Copies Plus; Scolari's Market Gardnerville; Kim Lee Sushi Restaurant; Country Club Restaurant; AM/PM Minden; Two Guys from Italy Restaurant; Nik-n-Willie's Pizza; Jumbo Sub Shop; Bravo Cafe; Domino's Pizza; Nevada State Bank; U.S. Food Services; the Reno Aces Ball Club; Douglas Disposal; Sapphire Wizard Arts; Silver Strike Lanes; Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club; Pamela Mann; the Gardnerville Ranchos Volunteer Fire Department and The Record-Courier.

Last but certainly not least, we are forever indebted to the host of the event, Dave Cinciala, his family and the wonderful employees of Jethro's Oven and Grille, some of whom volunteered their time to work along side of us.

Again, Dave showed his devotion to our community and our young people by bending over backwards for us.

From the very beginning of the planning stages until the closing bell, and even when little problems arose, Dave's outlook was always "let's make this happen". He put his heart and soul into the event and he deserves an immense amount of the credit for its success. His generosity and enthusiasm were truly amazing.

How lucky we all are to live in a community like ours where people always step up to the plate for others.

Every dime raised at the event will go to our Carson Valley Chapter of the club where it is so desperately needed so that we can continue and expand our services to our kids.

We ask that you please support those businesses who so generously supported our club. We hope to see you all next July for the second annual crab feed and cookout.
