A 53-year-old Holbrook woman faces up to six years in prison after she pleaded guilty Monday to being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
Myra Hamontree said she was intoxicated July 4 and doesn't remember much but agreed she picked up her husband's 12-gauge shotgun, pointed it at him and left the room. Later, she returned with his .357-magnum.
The victim told authorities that he and the defendant had been arguing and drinking. He said he lay down to take a nap when the suspect allegedly pulled a 12-gauge shotgun on him.
He said Hamontree put the shotgun down and picked up a derringer, pointed it at him, and said she was "going to blow him away."
Her blood-alcohol content was .133, in violation of her California probation. She was convicted of burglary five years ago in Stanislaus County.
District Judge Michael Gibbons set sentencing for Sept. 14.
He set her bail at $10,000, and said she could be released to in-patient treatment without pain.
Hamontree is under the supervision of the Department of Alternative Sentencing.
The state has agreed to recommend no prison, but may request Hamontree serve a year in Douglas County Jail.
She is eligible for probation.
