A 20-year-old Indian Hills man who was found hiding in a bathtub wearing handcuffs several hours after escaping from deputies is to appear today before East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl.
Deputies handcuffed Jesse Brandon Madore on July 22 while investigating a domestic battery report.
While a deputy was looking at damage Madore allegedly caused at the Coloma Drive residence, the defendant ran through a side gate and climbed a ridge.
Deputies searched the area, but didn't find Madore until early July 23. He reportedly was sleeping in a bathtub in a Kings Lane residence that belonged to a friend of his mother.
He was charged with resisting a public officer.
He told EnEarl on July 24 that he was distraught over the recent death of his brother, Christopher Medina, in a car accident.
"My brother taught lessons to everybody," Madore said. "He was really a good kid."
EnEarl said Madore's alleged behavior disrespected his brother's memory.
"I understand he was a fine young man," EnEarl said. "You're not respecting his memory worth a darn and you're not helping your mother."
