National Weather Service meteorologists are tracking a strong thunderstorm near the Angora burn area south of South Lake Tahoe where a storm is dumping heavy rainfall of an inch an hour, hail and lightning.
Visibility in the area is less than three miles. Winds are gusting up to 40 mph.
The storm is moving slowly north toward Daggett Pass, Glenbrook, Kingsbury, Stateline, Zephyr Cove and Heavenly Valley.
Forecasters are warning people in the path of the storm to seek shelter indoors. Motorists should use caution on Highway 50 at Lake Tahoe.
