Potential Gibbons challenger to speak in Gardnerville

Gubernatorial candidate Joe Heck will be the guest speaker at the June 11 meeting of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee .

Heck, a Henderson resident, has served as a doctor of osteopathy, an Army Reservist (currently holds the rank of Colonel and commands a U.S. Army Hospital) and a community volunteer. Heck represented Senate District 5 in the Nevada Senate from 2004-2008, serving on the Natural Resources, Human Resources and Education, and the Commerce and Labor Committees, and as Vice-Chair of the Transportation and Homeland Security Committee.

The meeting is at Republican Headquarters, 1516 Highway 395, Suite G, Gardnerville. Executive board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by a social gathering with refreshments at 7 p.m. Regular meeting convenes at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend.
