A 42-year-old Johnson Lane helicopter mechanic faces up to 20 years in prison and lifetime supervision as a sex offender after he admitted Tuesday trading nude videos of a 17-year-old girl in exchange for the use of a car.
Troy Marvin Creeks pleaded guilty to attempted use of a minor as subject of a sexual portrayal in a performance.
In exchange for Creeks' guilty plea, the prosecution will not ask for more than 10 years in prison, but Judge Dave Gamble is free to sentence him to the maximum of 20 years in prison.
Creeks also is eligible for parole if he is determined to be a low risk to re-offend.
Gamble set sentencing for Aug. 11. Creeks is out on $10,000 bail following his arrest in December.
He was arrested after the victim's mother found a handwritten contract that required the 17-year-old to perform nude in videos in exchange for use of a car.
According to reports, he took the girl to Walmart and purchased a camera so she could make the videos.
"I encouraged a person under age 18 to make a video," he told Gamble.
He said the video was to be sexually explicit.
Gamble amended Creeks' conditions of release to allow the 16-year-old son of his employer to be in his presence at work.
"That is one single, solitary exception," Gamble said. "You can't be around anyone other minors and the boy may not bring any friends to his employment."
