A Genoa couple was among the three people injured in a rollover accident on Highway 395 at the top of Jake's Hill Monday afternoon.
Genoa resident Ted Vanleeuwen, 76, of Genoa was northbound on Highway 395 at about 3:50 p.m. when the 2004 Jeep Liberty he was driving crossed the opposite lanes and then left the west roadway edge.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the Jeep hit two rocks before rolling over and coming to rest on its tires.
Vanleeuwen's door had to be pried open.
Vanleeuwen's passengers, Paulina Vanleeuwen, 75, of Genoa, and Jacob G. Vanleeuwen, 20, of Placerville, Calif., were also injured in the accident.
All three were wearing their seatbelts. According to the Highway Patrol report, injuries focused in the chest, head and neck areas.
Jacob and Ted Vanleeuwen were helicoptered to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment. Paulina Vanleeuwen was taken to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center by East Fork paramedics.
The highway was closed for about 25 minutes while the helicopter was at the scene. The Jeep was towed by Silver State Towing to Gardnerville.
