In order to adjust the Douglas County Landfill's chapeau, the shooting range will be closed Monday through Thursday for four weeks starting July 6. The shooting range will be open Fridays and weekends during the closure. The landfill has been closed for a long time, but requires work on its protective cap.
Wednesday is the last day for the Gardnerville DMV. We haven't received any word on whether they've had any bites for the kiosk, so if you're interested go to the Web site at www.dmv.com. Clerk-Treasurer Ted Thran reminds folks that if you drop your registration renewal off with his offices, Douglas County gets a piece of the action.
Just when it looked like clear skies and warm days through the end of June, there are the thunderheads again. Today is supposed to be sunny again, but if it's sunny like Monday then it will cloud up later in the day. Thunderstorms are back in the forecast for Wednesday.
