The Carson Valley Little League Hooligans got their district off to a strong start Wednesday night, blasting Sparks National 11-3 at the South Valley Sports Complex in Reno.
Tristin Reed, Alex Tessmann and David Sando combined to allow to allow just one earned run in the game. Reed struck out seven in three shutout innings of work, Tessmann had two strikeouts and Sando had three strikeouts.
Luke Romero and Nick Wilkinson led Carson Valley at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and 3-for-4 with three RBIs respectively.
Trevor Tierney, Sando and Tessmann all went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Carson Valley faces Reno National, considered by some to be the tournament favorite, Thursday night.
