Baseball: Hooligans break even in pool play

After suffering a 13-3 loss at the hands of the powerful Reno National squad, the Carson Valley Little League Hooligans baseball team bounced back to take a 10-6 win over Truckee Friday night.


Nick Wilkinson went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs in the win, Alex Tessmann belted a three-run home run while going 2-for-4 at the plate, Luke Romero went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double, Trevor Tierney went 2-for-4 with a run scored and William Cassinos drew three walks and scored a pair of runs.


David Sando hit a three-run triple in the game and Tristin Reid struck out four in three shutout innings of work.


Carson Valley ran into a tough Washoe club on Saturday, losing 10-0 while managing one hit, a single off Wilkinson's bat.


Tessmann three strong innings in the game as well.


Carson Valley emerged from pool play with a 2-2 record and was scheduled to take on Reno Contenintal Monday night in the first round of the elimination bracket at South Valley Sports Complex in Reno.
