The Minden Town Board meets 7 p.m. today to deliberate a 5 percent increase in the town's water and trash rates. Minden Town Board members will also hear from Gardnerville Town Manager Jim Park about what he does. Minden is considering hiring a manager. The board meets at the CVIC Hall.
A lot of folks stopped by to visit with Rich Moreno at the Boarders on Saturday. Rich is back in Nevada for a couple of weeks to research a history of Carson City. Retired State Archivist Guy Rocha and former Northern Nevada Children's Museum Director Denise Sims also stopped by.
The fireworks may be coming early this Fourth of July, courtesy of mother nature. Thunderstorms are in the forecast throughout the week. Today expect mostly clear skies with thunderheads developing over the Sierra southeast of town this afternoon. The high temperature will range from 89 to 99 degrees. The wind will pick up this afternoon 10-15 mph increasing to 10-20 mph with 30 mph gusts.
