According to Pravda

EDITOR:

You say "Oz" and "Twilight Zone;" I say we've ventured through the looking glass. What do I mean you might ask?

I mean just this, when the former mouth organ of the USSR, Pravda, begins to question the direction our federal government is heading we are in deep trouble and need to pay attention.

The headline of Pravda's online publication of April 27 states: "American capitalism gone with a whimper." Allow me to quote from the article: "It must be said that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breathtaking speed against the backdrop of a passive, helpless sheeple. The situation has been well prepared, especially the past 20 years. First the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in D.C. that directly affects their lives."

I could go on with this glowing criticism, but I think they made the point loud and clear.

Pravda says we are heading into Marxism (socialism), while others see our descent into fascism.

I say that they are two sides of the same coin, the coin of unlimited government power and complete suppression of individual liberty (civil rights for you educated in the government school system).

What are the ramifications of such a system? Well, let's explore that which has already happened to our former system of liberty and free exchange involving the rule of law and commerce.

In order to set the stage for my reasoning we must go back a few months for a couple of quotes from two significant players, the president's chief of staff (Rahm Emanuel) and the president himself.

Emanuel is on record having said: "You never want to let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you could not do before."(Nationalize banks and take over private corporations).

The president in his inauguration speech said one of his goals was to remake the United States.

Evidently with what has happened to our government and country over the last five months we are well on our way to being remade.

The problem is with his progressive system of a partnership of big government, big business, big finance and powerful unions. This alliance will control the government at all levels and thus remake the country. Contracts, loan agreements between private investors and corporations (Chrysler and G.M.) have already been voided by the government which totally undermines the rule of law.

Who in his right mind would loan money (buy a corporate bond) to a company knowing full well that it may be a void contract? Prior to this administration such actions were not only unheard of, but also illegal as well as unthinkable.

So where are we headed? Is Pravda right - socialism or fascism? Call it what you wish, but either way the result will be loss of individual liberty with unlimited government power.
