An Amber alert for a 3-year-old girl was canceled as of 4:14 p.m. after Douglas County authorities received word the girl was recovered and the man who took her was in custody.
The alert was issued this morning after the girl was reportedly forcibly taken from her home in Yreka, Calif. at 4:37 a.m.
According to the Associated Press, the suspect in the abduction, 22-year-old Kody Lee Kaplon, surrendered after calling an Amber Alert hotline.
Yreka authorities say the girl's parents met Kaplon during a party at their house Sunday night. Her father said he was awakened by her screams and apparently saw Kaplon drive off with her, according to the wire service report.
