Placerville, Calif., native Jacquelyn C. Barrett, 87, died at her home in Minden on Feb. 2, 2009.
Born, June 7, 1921, to John and Ruth Corker, she was a third-generation El Dorado County native from a pioneer family that had settled the Georgetown area in 1862.
Mrs. Barrett was raised in Placerville and the old logging community of Pino Grande, Calif.
She married Robert C. Barrett in 1943 and, following his service in World War II, they owned and operated the Camino Food Center for nearly 40 years.
She lived in Carson Valley for the past 12 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and her husband.
She is survived by son Robert R. Barrett of Pinedale, Wyo.; daughter Cyndy C. Jackson of Minden; two grandsons and five great grandchildren.
At her request, no formal services were held.
