Young at Heart dues for 2009

The annual membership drive for the Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club is under way. Look for Annie Smutnak, who is collecting dues and looking for new recruits on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at the Douglas County Senior Center. Smutnak's efforts helped bring Young At Heart's membership to 372 last year. Her goal this year is to increase the YAH membership to 500.

Membership is open to anyone age 55 or older and annual dues are $3. Funds raised by Young At Heart are used throughout the year for projects including holiday gift bags, repairs and upkeep at the senior center, fundraising for a new center and other community events.

Join the Young At Heart senior citizens club in the gift shop, 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville. Information, 783-6455.
