Spring family fun helps support our schools

Everyone is invited to Meneley Elementary's annual Friendship Dinner on March 14. Come hungry " a spaghetti dinner with the works will be served at 5 p.m. Diners will be serenaded by a talented vocal group from Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School and a Jump Rope for Heart demonstration will follow at 6 p.m.

Gift baskets will be available for silent auction bids and there will be raffle drawings for some great prizes throughout the evening. The festivities include a canned food drive to benefit the Carson Valley Community Food Closet. For each can of food donated you will receive one free raffle ticket.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3.50 for children, or $15 for a family of four or more. For more information, contact Meneley at 265-3154.


Scarselli Elementary Family Fun Night

Scarselli Elementary School hosts Family Fun Night on March 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The PTO-sponsored dinner includes spaghetti, salad, a roll and drink for $3 per person. The Cheetah Club sells mint chocolate chip ice cream for 50 cents. There will be a themed basket raffle throughout the evening. Classes have been busy creating baskets of goodies, which will be raffled off toward the end of the festivities.

Proceeds from the raffle benefit the Scarselli scholarship fund, which awards scholarships to graduating seniors from Douglas High School who attended Scarselli. Tickets are $1 apiece or 6 for $5.

It is also book fair week at the school. The fair will be open the entire evening, which provides a great opportunity to purchase some new reading materials for your child.

Green Ball Bash

Carson Valley Golf Course invites all golfers to their Green Ball Bash Tournament on March 14 at 10 a.m.

The $40 fee includes green fees, the $10 prize fund, a green ball, continental breakfast, hot soup and a corned beef sandwich. Season pass holders can join in the fun for only $20.
