Minden Fortnightly Club thanks community

On Feb. 5, members of Minden Fortnightly Club met to discuss disbursing funds earned at their annual fundraiser. Minden Fortnightly fundraiser is an annual holiday ritual for many local residents. This year, the funds were given to many worthwhile causes. We sponsored scholarships to Douglas High seniors, scholarship to Girl's State, Town of Minden, CVIC Hall, City of Refuge, Carson Valley Community Food Closet, Family Support Council, Project School Days, Library Summer Reading Program, Carson Valley Arts Council and Austin's House.

Minden Fortnightly has a Have A Heart Fund whose outreach committee can disburse money to those in need. We at Fortnightly could not contribute to these charities without the support of so many local businesses that donate to our event. These local businesses donate year after year and should be recognized for their continued generosity.
