In this economy, with people out of work and struggling, it is easy to look to ideas for easy money.

Recently, I received a chain letter promising that I could get rich by sending out a few letters. This letter assured me that doing this is perfectly legal.

First, because this is basically a pyramid scheme where the letter must be forwarded to millions of people before you get to the top of the list, you are throwing away your money. It is doubtful that you will even receive your postage.

Finally, despite the assurance in the letter, forwarding it is illegal. The Douglas County District Attorney will prosecute for attempting to obtain money by false pretense.
