A celebration of life was Thursday in Gardnerville for Ramon Donald Paddock, 77, who died March 7, 2009, at Carson-Tahoe Medical Center.
Mr. Paddock was a resident of Gardnerville for 37 years. Born Aug. 28, 1931, in Edgemont, S.D., to Harold and Lois Wallace Paddock, he married Carmel Nelson on March 28, 1967.
He was a tool and die maker for Westinghouse in Sunnyvale, where he lived before moving to Gardnerville. He worked for Harrah's for 30 years.
Mr. Paddock enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hounding and shooting. He was a square dance caller for 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Audrey O'Brien.
He is survived by his wife; son Tim; daughters Diana (Gordon) Speltz, Trilja (Jim) Laird, Sonja (William) Grass; brothers Jerry (Barbara) and Bob (Linda) Paddock; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made in Mr. Paddock's name to a favorite charity or church.
He was cremated.
