Things are starting to look an odd bit familiar for the Douglas High girls' track team.
Last year, the Lady Tigers won their first three meets of the season, culminating with the Fallon Invitational.
This year, things have started out much the same, with three victories in as many meets, culminating with Saturday's Fallon Invite.
Senior Jessica Waggoner broke the school record in the shot put for the second time in as many weeks and the third time in her career with a throw of 42 feet, 6 inches. The Northern 4A Regional Meet record is 44-6.75. She also won the discus with a throw of 123-1.
The only other first-place finisher for the Tigers Saturday was the 4x800 relay team of Taylor Biaggi, Cara Dunkelman, Tia Lyons and Sadie Gastelum. The team finished with a time of 10:15.90.
Freshman Katie Dry took second in the 100 (13.42) and third in the 400 (1:01.48). She teamed with Shannon Sturgess, Liz Nickles and Amanda Brazeau took take second in the 4x200 relay and with Tia Lyons, Susie White and Kyra Barth to take third in the 4x400.
Natasha Brown was second in the triple jump (33-06.25), Gastelum took third in the 3,200 with a time of 13:13.40, Jessica Gorton was third in the long jump (15-9.5) and Kyra Barth took third in the high jump.
On the boys' side, Sierra Lutheran's Wade Meddles won the 1,600 and the 3,200, Douglas' Ryan Ake was second in the 300 hurdles and the 4x400 team of Davey Fisher, Brad Boyd, Nick Maestretti and Johnny Pollack was third.
