The couple that steals together faces sentencing together this morning in Douglas County District Court. Matthew and Amanda Golden face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for breaking into the Pizza Factory, two days before they were caught in connection with a break-in at the Northwest Martial Arts Studio. The two 19-year-olds were placed on probation in the Northwest case.

The weekend storm dropped 1.7 inches of moisture in Heavenly Valley and increased and 6 inches of snow over night on Saturday. Ebbetts Pass, which feeds the Carson River got an additional 2.7 inches of moisture from the storm and the snow depth is 56 inches, resetting us back to mid-April for the water year. The first weekend in May made up for a lackluster April up top. Ebbetts only had 63 percent of its average moisture for the month. Count these last couple of days in May and it's back up over 100 percent.

There's more on the way, especially for the upper elevations of the Sierra. The National Weather Service is predicting a 40 percent chance of rain showers in the Valley tonight and a slight chance for isolated showers on Tuesday. Temperatures are going to warm back up into the 70s this week, cracking 75 by Wednesday.
