A 36-year-old Dayton woman, serving a prison term for felony drunk driving in Carson City, was sentenced Monday to serve up to four years concurrently for a Douglas County felony conviction.

"I am very sorry," said Katie Anne Kelley, formerly known as Megan Susan Marshall.

"I have been in prison for a month now. This will never happen again. I am missing time with my kids."

Kelley dropped a request for a three-year-diversion program which would have kept her out of prison. She is serving her sentence at the Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center in North Las Vegas.

Kelley had two prior convictions in Douglas County and at the time of her Feb. 22 offense, two pending cases in Carson City and Lyon County.

District Judge Michael Gibbons sentenced her to four years in Nevada State Prison with a one-year minimum concurrent to the three years she is serving for her Carson City sentence.

He also fined her $2,000.

"The circumstances are very tragic for you and your family," Gibbons said.

"Fortunately, there were no injuries. You can never have another drink in your life. You have to run as far and as fast as you can away from alcohol or any other drugs."
