Sagehens rummage sale

The Topaz Sagehens' 33rd annual rummage sale is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, 33904 Carter Way, Wellington. Chili dogs, hot dogs, soft drinks, coffee, bake sale items, homemade candy and salsa for sale. Raffle prizes. Information, 266-4013.


Mother-son dance

Show Mom how much youappreciate her by taking her for an evening of dancing and entertainment at the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department's Mother/Son Dance, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, at the fairgrounds building. Cost for the semi-formal occasion is $15 per couple and $7 per addition son. Corsages for Mom and refreshments provided. Photos available for purchase.

Photo Club

Wine tasting

Heavenly Ski & Snowboard Foundation's seventh annual Grapes and Gates Invitational Wine Tasting Party is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Edgewood Golf Club's North Room.

The event is sponsored by The Cork & More and Edgewood Golf Club featuring food from Nephele's, Cafe Fiori, Thai One On and Mirabelle and Napa and Sonoma wines.

Museum lecture

Carson Valley historian Bob Ellison tells the story of how Jacks Valley was named, 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. The free lecture series is sponsored by the Douglas County Historical Society the second Thursday of the month. The museum and the Main Street Book Store will be open before and after the one-hour lecture. Information, 782-2555.


Rockathon

Swap spaces available for the Valley Cruisers Spring Rockathon antique and classic auto show, May 16 in Heritage Park in Gardnerville. Swap meet is 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Auto show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music, hot dogs.
