Church, school at a crossroads

EDITOR:

In the past six months the Crossroads Church and the Pinenut Christian School have come to their own "crossroads" in their business relationship which is coming to an unfortunate end this summer.

The church and the school have agreed to disagree on how things are run at the school. The administrative staff at the church has been rather spiteful, beginning with taking the school's computer and working files, oh wait, it was "half ours" says the church.

The church administration has dramatically increased the rent, cancelled workers compensation insurance on behalf of the school and then reported the school to authorities, nice touch by the way, withheld school mail and on and on. Most recently the church has removed the microwave ovens from the children's lunch room claiming it was an "insurance policy violation." I guess all school facilities, county and government buildings should be shut down because all those illegal microwaves could implode the community. Clearly there are two sides to this story and I am only reporting one concerned parents' opinion, but the actions of the church administration are not very Christian-like.

As adults we can resolve our differences through various methods, but the church administration's actions have now begun to affect our children. Do what you like to me, a Pinenut Christian School parent, but leave our children alone and let them remain happy and comfortable in their school environment. The school will be moving out soon enough, along with parents and family who may also attend the church. The above actions do not in any way directly reflect on the church congregation, only the church administrative staff.

P.S. The Pinenut Christian School is looking for a new good home, any assistance with developing young minds and hearts will be greatly appreciated.
