Dance academy presents spring concert May 29-30

The Academy of Dance Arts 15th annual spring concert is presented 6 p.m. May 29 and May 30 at the MontBleu theater in the Montbleu Resort & Casino, Stateline.

"For years now, we have been talking about performing the ballet 'Cinderella,'" said Kelly O'Fallon, owner and director of The Academy of Dance Arts. "The 15th anniversary of the studio seemed the perfect time to unveil this beloved and well-known story of rags to riches, good versus evil, and in the end the power and triumph of true love."

The first half of the production is the performance of the ballet "Cinderella." After a brief intermission, the dancers return to the stage for the "Put on Your Dancin' Shoes" jazz and tap portion of the show.

"We decided it would be fun to pick music from anywhere and everywhere, including music and dancing, of all styles and genres. We have created new, exciting and age-appropriate choreography that is both challenging for all the dancers and will thoroughly entertain our audience," O'Fallon said. "We have a very eclectic range of music running the gamut from mainstream to obscure. There's absolutely something for everyone."
