Bell choir concert

The Sierra Ringers and the Bell Cases adult and youth bell choirs of the Carson Valley United Methodist Church present a concert, 5 p.m. Sunday, at the church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

Both choirs are under the direction of Kathy Chipman Wicker. The Barefoot Belles quartet are included in the program.

A donation of $5 will be taken which includes dessert in the fellowship hall.

Authors gathering

The Douglas County Public Library's gathering of authors is 2-4 p.m. June 27, at 1625 Library Lane, Minden. Authors interested in the book signing and discussion event should contact the library by today. Information, douglas.lib.nv.us or 782-9841.

Monday. Chef salad of turkey, ham, cheese, lettuce, hard boiled egg, fresh fruit cup, blueberry muffin

Tuesday. Pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, roasted vegetables, spiced applesauce, rocky road cookies

Wednesday. Baked meat loaf, mashed potatoes, spinach, lettuce and tomato salad with French dressing, whole wheat bread with apple butter, Chantilly fruit cup

Thursday. Breaded fish, pea salad, broccoli almandine rice, tartar sauce, citrus fruit cup, island paradise cake

Friday. Stuffed cheese shells, strawberry spinach salad, zucchini Italiano, garlic bread, red, white and blue pie


Swap meet

Donations accepted and booth space available for the Tahoe Youth & Family Services swap meet, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 23 at the South Tahoe Middle School. Farmers market coming

Opening day for the 12th season of the Gardnerville Farmers Market is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 in Lampe Park. The farmers market features fruits, vegetables, flowers, bakery items, gifts and outdoor decor every Wednesday in the park. Information at the Douglas County Parks & Recreation office, 782-9828.
