The listening sessions wrap up today with two sessions, one at 9:30 a.m. talking about local government and the other at 10:45 a.m. talking about business, retail, the chamber, tourism and hospitality. Both sessions are taken place in the County Commission chambers 1616 Eighth St. in Minden. The big town hall meeting is 6:30 p.m. at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
We had the second accident in Minden during the high school's lunch in two days on Wednesday. On Tuesday, someone got t-boned coming out of the parking lot and on Wednesday someone hit their head in a two-car accident. Spring fever's breaking out and there's no better cure than a cold dose of reality.
Graduation is June 5 this year, which means school will be out in three weeks or so. They'll be holding it on the baseball and softball fields next to Keith Roman Field at the high school. If weather's a problem, they'll move graduation to June 6.
Did I mention the weather was warming up? Because it is. Today won't seem like it as the temperature climbs to 76, but the mercury will climb into the 80s on Friday and the 90s by Sunday. The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of thunderstorms next week. Keep an eye out for strikes.
