The Alpine County Resource Advisory Committee is requesting proposals for use of $443,000 over 4 years, funding that is provided by the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act.
The funds can be used for the following categories:
National Forest watershed restoration, road maintenance, and maintenance of existing infrastructure;
National Forest trail projects, wildlife and fish habitat improvement, control of noxious and exotic weeds, soil productivity improvement, improvement of forest ecosystem health, and re-establishment of native species; and,
Lands adjacent to the National Forest, as long as the project benefits the adjoining National Forest. Projects which leverage the funds with in-kind and cash matching funds are encouraged.
Projects should be located within Alpine County. Applications for project proposals need to be submitted by June 15, 2009, to Alpine County Resource Advisory Committee, Attn. Marnie Bonesteel, Humboldt-Toiayabe National Forest, Carson Ranger District, 1536 S. Carson Street, Carson City, NV 89701.
