The Carson Valley Swim Center is hosting an after-hours swim and dinner 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 30 at the Minden center to benefit the family of Molly Lahlum, a team member who died April 23.
Susan Govan, a retired Douglas Dolfins Swim Team coach, said the evening would be "a celebration of Molly's life at her favorite playground."
Proceeds will help offset medical costs incurred after the 15-year-old Douglas High School sophomore collapsed at a swim meet April 7 at the Carson Aquatic Center. She died two weeks later.
Molly was a Dolfin and a member of the Douglas High swim team.
"The whole community is invited," Govan said. "We want everyone to come and help us celebrate Molly's life."
A barbecue dinner will be served for $6 per person.
People are invited to come just for the dinner, or to swim as well.
Admission to the swimming pool will be by donation.
"The whole facility will be open " the pools, the slide and the toys," Govan said.
